ABOUT PALMETTO
J. Purvis King
President
Palmetto Industries International
As President and co-owner, Purvis is heavily involved with all aspects of the business and works equally close with the sales and manufacturing sectors. Overseeing key corporate accounts and working personally with customers is a passion for him and has predicated the long standing relationships and trust that has developed over the years between Palmetto Industries and their customers.
Additionally, he has long been involved with the trade associations FIBCA and TBPA (where he is on the Executive Board) and he is a member of the IoPP, Institute of Packaging Professionals.
He has been in textile related industries for 25 years and has devoted the past 20 years to the FIBC and flexible packaging industry. Initial management training with Milliken & Company provided the foundation for a textile career that spanned several industries including weaving apparel fabrics at Milliken, dyeing and finishing blankets for the healthcare industry at Spartan Mills and flexible woven packaging that focused primarily on FIBCs at Augusta Bag Company and finally co-founding Palmetto Industries in 1994. His extensive knowledge of the design, production and applications of flexible packaging was an effective catalyst to help found and grow Palmetto into the global industry leader that it is today.
Purvis graduated from Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia with Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Physics.
