Shankar has over 18 years of entrepreneurial experience, specializing in process engineering, manufacturing, distribution and international commerce.

 

Shankar has been awarded numerous awards including the Business Person of the Year award from the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce in 1998 and the

State of Georgia Outstanding Existing Industry Award by the Georgia Economic Developers Association in 1999. Palmetto Industries was ranked by Entrepreneur magazine as the 6th fastest growing company in its second year of operation. Shankar serves on the board of the Georgia Medical Center Authority a bio-tech initiative formed by Gov. Barnes and as a charter member (mentor) of TiE Atlanta (www.tie.org) a non-profit organization promoting entrepreneurship.

 

Shankar holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toledo. He has also attended several masters level and executive management courses and programs at the University of Michigan.
