Raw Material Testing

 

As per ASTM-D 1238, using MFI tester the raw material is fed into the machine. At the specified

temperature and test load, the material is extruded through a narrow orifice and the cuttings are

taken for a specified time and the weights of the extrudates are noted.

 

MFI is calculated using the formula:

MFI (in grams/10 m) = Wt. of Extrudate (in grams) x Specified Time (in secs) / 600 m-secs

 

Denier Testing

Samples of 6 winded bobbins are taken every hour. 9 meters of tape from each bobbin are taken

separately and weighed. The average of that weight is the denier of the tape.

Tensile Strength

Collect 1 meter of tape from the sample, affix in the KMI machine jaws (distance between the jaws

should be 20 cm) and operate the machine to find out the strength, GPD, and elongation.

Liner

The supervisors check width, thickness, and cut length of the liner every hour.

Width of the Fabric

The width and weave quality of the fabric and webbing is checked every hour by the weaving

operator and crosschecked by the supervisors.
