Top Lift Test

Its lifting devices, in a manner by which it is designed, such that it is clear of the floor suspend the

filled FIBC.

Supplementary loading is distributed across the tip of the FIBCs contents by means of hydraulic

cylinder acting against a pressure plate. The pressure plate covers at least 60% of the surface area

of the bag contents. Any top panel material not contributing to the overall strength of the FIBC, and

that has the potential to interfere with the test procedure, is removed.

The total-loading equals five times or six times the maximum permissible load depending on the

desired certification. This load is maintained for a period of five minutes. The load may also be

supplied increasingly until the bag fails, thus indicating its maximum load capacity.

The FIBC is inspected in accordance with the criteria for passing the test.
