PALMETTO QUALITY
Vibration Test
The FIBC is placed on the ground and a 100 mm knife score, completely penetrating the wall of the
wide face, is made at a 45∞ angle to the principal axis of the FIBC, halfway between the bottom
surface and the top level of the contents.
The FIBC is then subjected to a uniformly superimposed load, equivalent to twice the maximum
permissible load, by using the hydraulic cylinder described in the top lift Test and a pressure plate
covering the top of the FIBC. This load is maintained for a least five minutes.
After removal of the load, the FIBC is lifted clear of the floor, in the manner by which it is designed,
and is held suspended for a period of five minutes.
The FIBC is inspected in accordance with the criteria for passing the test.
